Mobile Robot Co. Introduces New Personal Care Robot
Conyers, GA, Aug 12, 2008 (WORLD STOCK WIRE via COMTEX) -- GeckoSystems Intl. Corp. (OTC PINKSHEETS: GCKO) announced today that they have completed the prototyping of their CareBot MSR 3.8. GeckoSystems is a dynamic leader in the emerging Mobile Service Robot industry revolutionizing their development and usage with mobile robot solutions for safety, security, and service.
"After over ten years of development by many talented, tenacious engineers and programmers, we are very excited to introduce our new CareBot personal care robot," said R. Martin Spencer, President/CEO of GeckoSystems Intl. Corp. "The new CareBot MSR 3.8 can watch over grandma or the kids, patrol your home, and/or run errands for 8 to 14 hours continuously without recharging. This capability, along with web-based video conferencing enables our CareBot to perform much like a family caregiver, letting them watch over their loved ones, even when they can't be there."
GeckoSystems recently developed GeckoTrak hardware and software that enables the CareBot to automatically follow grandma from room to room. GeckoChat tells her when it's time to take her medications, and can even reminds her when her favorite television shows are coming on. GeckoChat is a specially designed assistive technology that enables caregivers to teach the CareBot what to say, and when. It can be programmed verbally or through an easy to use desktop application. When setting up GeckoChat, the user can create a distinctive personality for the CareBot by choosing from a variety of tones and cadences ranging from gentle to firm, from timid to teasing, and by choosing characteristic words and phrases, making the CareBot a truly unique and personalized personal care home robot that can fit comfortably into most families.
A multitude of necessary and synergistic technologies have been created by GeckoSystems to achieve this world's first. Their fundamental suite of hardware centric technologies (such as GeckoSPIO, GeckoOrient, the CompoundedSensorArray, the GeckoMotorController, the GeckoTactileShroud, and GeckoZap), and software centric technologies (such as GeckoNav, GeckoChat, GeckoScheduler, and GeckoTrak) have all had upgrades and enhancements announced since the beginning of this year.
The foregoing plethora of sensor-fused technologies brings a new level of cost effective situational awareness to their adaptive, intelligent mobile robots. Situational awareness is the environmental understanding resulting from blended sensor systems and the common sense implications of those combined perceptions that enables the CareBot to "know" (i.e. be "situationally aware") when someone should be contacted immediately about the care receiver's current condition.
